Dedistation Storage VPS Review

Edit 11/11/2016: A lot of people are complaining that DediStation are starting to lose quality, as in support not answering tickets and servers being down. you can read more about it here

In this post we will be reviewing one of “DediStation”s storage VPS packages, the package we chose is “UK Storage VPS 250” and has the following specifications:

3GB DDR4 ECC RAM
250GB Disk Space
Free Monthly Backups
2 CPU Cores
2TB Bandwidth @ 1Gbps
1 IPv4 Address
5 IPv6 Addresses
London, UK Datacenter
SolusVM Control Panel

I should also mention that when I purchased my server there was an offer that gave an extra 1GB of RAM and 50GB extra storage space so the specifications of my server are slightly different to the ones above, I’ve also had the server a couple months as I wanted to see what the uptime was like.

Pre Sales

I can’t review the pre-sales support of DediStation as I forgot to ask them anything before purchasing. Taking from their technical support I can probably assume that it is pretty good.

Cost

DediStation has a lot of packages available however most of them are hidden inside the billing panel, on their website you can see the following packages:

I wont list their other offers as these are the only services that they advertise pubicly, you can find some of their other packages on LowEndBox.com

Technical Support

I opened two tickets while I was testing my Storage VPS with them, the firstĀ time I was blown away with the speed of the response from their support while the second was more of a standard response time.

The first ticket I opened was created at 9:50pm (Dedistation is based in the UK so that is quite late at night for their support) and I received a reply at 9:53pm! The best part is that it was not a standard copy/paste response, a member of their support had wrote the ticket for me.

The second ticket was created at 1:20am and I received a response at 7:10pm the same day, like the first it was a detailed response and not a standard scripted reply.

I quite like the support at DediStation, they know what they’re doing and get problems resolved quickly.

Extra Features

DediStation doesn’t currently have any extra features, instead opting to making their service better as a whole. They use the standard SolusVM control panel and HostBill billing platform. It would be nice to see some AnyCast systems like BuyVM has or a custom control panel.

Looks like it’s dead. Been down for weeks, no response on any channel. Looking like it’s gone under. Annoying but you get what you pay for in the end.
